Elections and Voter Registration
The auditor is responsible for administering all federal, state, county, city/town, school, hospital, fire, cemetery, water, sewer, port, park and recreation and public utility districts elections. In addition to the annual primary and general election, there could also be two special elections in February and April.
Accessible Voting Advisory Committee
A meeting for the Accessible Voting Advisory Committee will be held on Friday, October 25, 2019, at 10:00 A.M. The meeting will be in the County Commissioner’s Board Room on the ground floor in the Klickitat County Courthouse located at 205 S. Columbus Ave, Goldendale, WA 98620. An accessibility ramp is located on the north side of the building.
The purpose of this meeting will be to review the 2019 Accessible Voting Plan and evaluate the usability on the new Accessible Voting Unit.

The Goldendale Drop Box has a new temporary location north of the alley at 114 S. Columbus Ave., behind Round 2(Formerly Ammie's Attic). It is across the street from its old location.

Voters' Pamphlet Requirements for Districts
Districts who file resolutions for the 2021 Primary and General Election have voters' pamphlet requirements. Committee appointments must be made by the board of your district in a public meeting and signed before submission to the Auditor's Office. Once committee appointments are submitted, no changes can be made.

Candidate Filing Week
May 17-21, 2021
Online filing will be available starting at 9 a.m. on May 17th through May 21st at 4 p.m. A link to online filing will be available during that time.
Declarations of Candidacy will be accepted by mail May 3rd through May 21st but must be received in our office by May 21st at 5 p.m., late submissions will not be accepted.
Declarations of Candidacy can be dropped off at the courthouse May 17th through May 21st only. A drop box is available at the end of the accessibility ramp on the north side of the courthouse.
Early submissions will be returned by mail and will need to be re-submitted during the appropriate time frame.
Withdrawal
The deadline for candidate withdrawal is 5 P.M. on May 24, 2021. Filing fees are non-refundable.
Candidate Voters’ Pamphlet Statements
There will be an online voters’ guide available for the Primary and General Election and a printed voters’ pamphlet for the Primary and General Election. Statements and photos are due by May 28, 2021.
