Jurors Information

Jury Duty
Klickitat County Superior Court understands and appreciates that jury duty can be inconvenient.  But,  jurors are an indispensable part of our system of justice.  We are grateful for your willingness to serve as jurors.  We hope you will find the experience to be rewarding. Jury service is an essential element of our American judicial system. Trial by jury is provided as a constitutional right. Jury service is one of the privileges of citizenship in the United States. Jurors do not need any special skills or legal knowledge. You do, however, need to be able to set aside personal feelings and biases and be willing to keep an open mind before making a decision. A fair and impartial trial and the rendition of a just verdict depend upon the combined efforts of the jurors, the judge, and the lawyers. Thank you for doing your civic duty.

Where do I park when I report for Jury service?
There is parking around the court house lawn, as well as a parking lot to the North of the courthouse. If you have a handicap permit there are several parking spaces available in front of the courthouse.

Where do I have lunch?
Jurors are welcome to bring their lunch, however no refrigeration is available. There are plenty of places around Goldendale that are available for you to drive to and have lunch. The Bailiff has information available. Or you can click on the google map on this page.
What should I wear for jury duty?
Business casual is the dress code for jury duty and we recommend that you dress in layers. The building was built more than 40 years ago. Temperatures in the Jury room vary.
What about ADA Accommodations?
The Courthouse has signed ADA accessible parking with ramps for easy access to the inside. The building does have ADA building entrance power assist openers or closers which are low force units for accessibility as well as the elevator is equipped with hand rails. ADA accommodations can be made for jury persons in the court room as needed.
