Click for Details Washington State Auditor Accountability Audit 2011 The Washington State Auditor spend over a week in our office to determined whether the Assessor's complied with state laws and regulations and our own policies and procedures. Areas that were closely examined were exemptions, assessed value appeals, and personal property discovery. We are pleased that the Washington State Auditors did not have any findings in our office. Farm Advisory Board The Department of Revenue has recommended that Klickitat County appoint a Farm Advisory Board to assist the Assessor's Office in implementing assessment guidelines for the assessment of open space, farms and agricultural lands. This five member committee represents the active farming community and advises the Assessor in implementing assessment guidelines. The Assessor's office is currently accepting applications for this board which will meet once a year to help the Assessor determine the appropriate values for open space, farms and agriculture lands. The board will be selected by the Board of County Commissioners. If you are interested in applying for this board or would like additional information, please contact the Assessor's office or send us an application by January 15, 2011 to assessors@co.klickitat.wa.us.
