The Klickitat Board of County Commissioners adopted the County’s 2018 Budget in December with recognition that a number of key topics needed further review and public input. The Board plans to address the following areas in more depth during the first quarter of 2018: the historical use of landfill revenues versus current and future needs of the County; programs provided by the Public Health and Senior Services departments; and the wages paid to non-union employees.

The 2018 Budget includes funding for a new internship program, preliminary work for two new public safety radio sites and a new annex building to consolidate the offices currently housed in older, inefficient buildings in Goldendale.

Public input into these topics and others the Board faces each week is welcome during citizen comment each Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. or in writing via mail or email or by calling the Commissioner’s Office.
