Most Common Symptoms
Most people who become infected by West Nile virus will not become sick or have any symptoms. About 1 in 5 people infected can have mild symptoms such as body aches, fever or headache. Even fewer, approximately 1 in 150 people infected, will have more severe symptoms. Severe symptoms may include high fever, headache, neck stiffness, stupor, convulsions, muscle weakness, tremors, disorientation, paralysis and coma.
