NOTICE OF JOINT PUBLIC HEARING To Consider Approval Of The Watershed Management Plan, Yakima River Basin, January 2002. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, pursuant to Resolution No. 403-2004, the Board of Yakima County Commissioners has set a special Joint Session of the Boards of Benton, Kittitas, Klickitat and Yakima Counties to consider approval of the Watershed Management Plan, Yakima River Basin, January 2002. The purpose of the Watershed Plan is to provide for the future management of water resources, including water quality and habitat for the entire Yakima River Basin, consisting of Water Resource Inventory Areas 37, 38 and 39, excluding the Yakama Nation Reservation. The counties of Benton, Kittitas and Yakima, along with the cities of Ellensburg and Yakima and the Roza, Sunnyside Valley and Yakima-Tieton Irrigation Districts have been working together in support of the Yakima River Basin Watershed Planning Unit, which developed the plan under a Memorandum of Agreement signed in 1998. Required hearings on the plan have been held in each of the four counties. The special Joint Public Hearing of the Boards will be held on Wednesday, September 8, 2004 at 10:00 AM, or as soon thereafter as possible, in Room B-33, Yakima County Courthouse, 128 North 2nd Street, Yakima, Washington 98901 to consider approval of the plan.
