Notice of Adoption of Environmental Impact Statements for the Windy Point Wind Farm Project The Klickitat County Planning Director is reviewing the application of Windy Point Partners LLC (“WPP”) for construction and operation of a wind energy generation facility in the Columbia Hills southeast of Goldendale. The Windy Point Wind Farm Project (“Project”) would include up to 97 wind turbine generators and associated infrastructure located within a site approximately 12 miles long. When operational, the Project would generate approximately 242 megawatts of renewable wind energy. WPP is applying to the Klickitat County Planning Department for a permit to construct and operate the Project under the County’s Energy Overlay Zone Ordinance. The Planning Director had decided to adopt three draft and final environmental impact statements (“EISs”) as part of its review of the Project. These include the project-level draft and final EISs for two wind energy projects that were proposed for development in the same vicinity during the mid-1990’s. Also adopted are the draft and final EIS prepared for the Klickitat County Energy Overlay in 2003 and 2004. The Planning Director has determined that these adopted documents, supplemented by environmental documents provided in the Project application, meet the environmental review needs for the Project. A Notice of Adoption and an Addendum providing environmental information about the project are available from the Planning Department.
