PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE Notice is given that the Klickitat County Board of Commissioners will concurrently conduct a public hearing and a conference with interested parties on Tuesday, January 17, 2012, at 1:30 P.M., in the Commissioners Meeting Room, Klickitat County Courthouse, 205 S. Columbus Ave. Room 103, Goldendale, WA, to consider the following: Prior to deadline of January 22, 2012, determine whether Klickitat County will elect to “opt in” to the State of Washington’s Voluntary Stewardship Program (VSP) established pursuant to Engrossed Substitute House Bill 1886 (ESHB 1886). The Board is seeking to confer with tribes, environmental and agricultural interests and to receive input in favor of, or in opposition to opting into the VSP from property owners and other interested individuals, tribes, government agencies, businesses, school districts, and organizations; such input to include which, if any, watersheds within the County will participate in the VSP; and which, if any, of said watersheds will be nominated for consideration by the State Conservation Commission as State Priority Watersheds. The VSP program and its requirements may be reviewed at the website http://apps.leg.wa.gov/documents/billdocs/2011-12/Pdf/Bills/Session%20Law%202011/1886-S.SL.pdf or reviewed at the County Planning Department, 228 West Main, Goldendale. All interested persons may appear and present support or opposition to opting in at the hearing and/or provide written testimony to the Board of Commissioners prior to or during the hearing.
