GMA requires counties and cities to periodically review, evaluate, and, if necessary, revise their resource lands designations and critical areas regulations. Per the GMA update schedule (RCW 36.70A.130) December 1, 2013, is the current deadline for Klickitat County to “review and, if needed, revise” its resource lands and critical areas provisions. The purpose of the review is to determine if revisions are needed to address new GMA requirements. The scope of the review includes consideration of:

• Changes to GMA since the last review that have not been addressed
  
• Revisions that may be appropriate to address new information
  
• Revisions that may be appropriate to address issues experienced during prior administration.

This matter is scheduled for a public hearing before the Klickitat County Planning Commission on May 20, 2013. Comments may be faxed or e-mailed (please also mail original hard copy prior to hearing to Planning Department: 228 West Main Street, MS-CH-17, Goldendale, Washington 98620).
