Camping in Klickitat CountyWith a variety of terrain, abundance of wildlife, and scenic beauty, camping is popular throughout Klickitat County. Twenty developed camping areas ranging from primitive to full service RV parks are located throughout the county.

The State of Washington offers overnight camping accommodations at Brooks Memorial State Park and Maryhill State Park, each of which is located on Hwy 97. The state offers facilities at Horsethief Lake and, for astronomy enthusiasts, at the Goldendale Observatory.

Also on the Columbia River, the Corps of Engineers maintains a beautiful park at Roosevelt in the eastern part of the county. In the opposite corner of the county, the Trout Lake Ranger Station serves as the information gateway to Mount Adams and the Gifford Pinchot National Forest which offer numerous national forest camping opportunities. Also, both the Mt. Adams and Goldendale Chambers of Commerce provide general tourist information to Klickitat County visitors.
