2013 GMA Review and Evaluation

GMA requires counties and cities to periodically review, evaluate, and, if necessary, revise their resource lands designations and critical areas regulations. Per the GMA update schedule (RCW 36.70A.130) December 1, 2013, is the current deadline for Klickitat County to “review and, if needed, revise” its resource lands and critical areas provisions. The purpose of the review is to fulfill GMA periodic review requirements. The scope of the review includes consideration of:

• Changes to GMA since the last review that have not been addressed
  
• Revisions that may be appropriate to address new information
  
• Revisions that may be appropriate to address issues experienced during prior administration.

The Planning Commission held a public hearing on May 20, 2013. The Commission closed the hearing to further oral comment, but continued the written comment period to Friday May 31, 2013.
