Rodeos are gala community events in Klickitat County. Local and regional contestants compete in timed riding events to the entertainment of all. A rich local ranching tradition serves as a strong base of support for the county held rodeos.
In
Bickleton, at Cleveland Pioneer Park, the Alder Creek Pioneer Picnic and Rodeo is held in June the weekend before Father's Day. On Father's Day weekend, Glenwood hosts the longstanding NPRA Ketchum Kalf Rodeo. In late August the Klickitat County Fair in Goldendale features both a junior rodeo and NPRA Rodeo.
Other junior and high school rodeos are held throughout the season. In May, the Klickitat County fairgrounds is host to a high school rodeo. The weekend following Father's Day, a junior rodeo is held in Glenwood. During the fourth weekend in September Glenwood hosts a Washington State High School Rodeo.
Of similar interest, the Gold Buckle Rodeo Company in Roosevelt raises bulls for rodeo bull-riding, and also hosts rodeos on their grounds.
